The Fishing Line Story

Clear water and sapphire skies, silvery light on a midday sand, little fishes slip through, in the stream of life.  The silver silk faced fishes gleam like sparkles of light that dance on the water.  On one side a colourful cotton skin reminiscent of seaweed, coral and clouds lazily reflecting on the mirror like surface of a gentle sea.  The other side fine, grey felted woven wool, hides the fish among the reeds.

The Fishing Line is a hanging mobile that can either be stretched out long in a line or hung as a brace of fish.  The line is crocheted in glossy Pearl thread and twisted spun cotton and wool.  Watery Blue glass beads decorated the end loops like the old glass floats of fishing days gone by.  Little red and green beads betoken the lures and swivels of the canny fisherman.  Seven fish hang suspended from their lines on the main brace - a good day's catch.

This series is called The Fishing Line - Bramble Bay.

Dimensions: The complete line from loop to loop measures approximately 89cm (35 inches).

When hung from the two loops together the line measures approximately 63.5cm (25 inches).

Each fish measures 15cm (5 3/4 inches).
